Most ridic ad ever

Ok, so since I've been unemployed, watching daytime TV is one of my favorite pastimes. Last summer, there was a terrible Optimum Online commercial that ran once or twice every commercial break. But this time, they have come up with an so utterly ridiculous, it is epic. Again, they run it about once every commercial break and if you can watch this ad and not remember the phone number when it's over, I'll be SHOCKED. Enjoy!

My boss

Thought everyone might enjoy an insight into the event planning place I"ve been working: As you know, for three days a week, my buddy Rich has set me up
with a gig working for a friend of his and let me tell you, the amount of entertainment at this place is almost worth DONATING my time working here! First off, the owner, Rich's friend is awesomely fabulous! He wears things like a canary yellow button down under a canary yellow sweater vest (thursday's outfit), purple velvet jacket (like Prince) and alligator shoes. I have heard rumors about a pair of pants with ducks on them, but at this point, it's just legend. At least 20 times a day he exclaims "I
can't TAKE these people anymore!!" He can't remember anyone's name and has called me Roberta a number of times today. It is hilariously fun working there!!

I have 2 more interviews on Wednesday, should end up with something slightly less ridic and full time again here soon! Fingers crossed.

Events

So I've been working for this event planning company that my friend set me up at and we had our first event that I worked at on Tuesday. It was a charity event for an organization called Safe Horizon. There were a few celebs there. No one huge, but Veronica Webb (Tim Gunn's guide to style), Stephanie March (first DA on Law and Order SVU), Bob Woodruff (ABC News anchor who was injured in Iraq) and Peter Hermann (Actor and Mariska Hargitay's husband). It was fun and I'm sure it raised some money. If I could actually make money working for this company, I would like to stay there, cause it's fun, but i need to afford my life.

I had a good interview today. Can't divulge yet, need to get through another round first, but I'm optimistic.

This weekend, big going away extravaganza for Drew and Laura. Should be fun.

7 seed

Gonzaga got a 7 seed in the tourney. Pretty good for them, considering they didn't win the WCC tourney. I'm a little nervous about Davidson, especially because the game is going to be played in North Carolina. Anyway, it's on Friday, good luck to everyone else with teams in the tourney too! March Madness is really, really fun!

So this weekend, I ended up going to a comedy show on Friday, then my friends came over to my apartment and hung out. Then on Saturday, my former coworkers hosted a poker game and I went with my friend Drew. I came in 5th, 2 people away from the money! It was really fun. Then we went over to my other friend JP's apartment and played some more cards.

The job situation is ok, not good, just ok. I've been working a few days a week at an event planning company that my friend Rich set me up at. It's a cool company, and they do big gala charity events, so it's good experience, but tough to survive on. I have an interview on Wednesday that I'm excited about, will give details when I know a bit more about it. The forced job search is really stressing me out, so to any of my friends I've been less than stellar to lately, I'm sorry.

oh, to follow up on a ML comment, I live about 50 blocks down from where that crane fell. It was pretty scary though. I have been to bars RIGHT on that block before though. I can't even imagine. I might swing by and take some pics on one of my days off. stay tuned...

BOOO

well, gonzaga lost. But they should still make the tourney. And they never get a decent seed anyway, so it doesn't matter much.
I'm wolfing down pretzel crisps buffalo wing flavor pretzels like they're going out of style right now. They're DELISH and I'd highly recommend them.

go zags

Just watched Gonzaga beat Santa Clara in the WCC tournament. It wasn't pretty, but they got the job done. Now they play the winner of St. Mary's and san francisco. My money is on St. Mary's, but who knows. that game is on at 9ET tomorrow. GO ZAGS!!!

On another note, today I went to a charity bowling event for my friend Rich. He is in the Big Brothers program and that's what we were benefiting. Lots of fun.

So I'm feeling very stressed lately, both about the job and then about things in general. People in my life are stressing me out, I don't think they realize they are, but it makes it tough all the same. Maybe a quick trip to DC would be a good idea? I think seeing baby Maddy is in order!!

Dodgeball playoffs, etc.

Well, we had the dodgeball playoffs last night. The Ball Busters got out in literally 30 seconds. Of course a good time was had by all though at the games and then certainly after at the bar.

Today was supposed to be my last day of work. I didn't go in though. What are they gonna do, fire me!?! Yeah, so i'm definitely not excited about the job search again. It's really annoying to have to do all over again! Always a bit stressful, but things always work out, so I'm sure they will again and I'll find something for sure.

So my dear friends Drew and Laura are moving back to Kentucky in a few weeks. They came to dodgeball last night (they were founding members of the Ball Busters!) which was super fun. I'm REALLY going to miss them. I think it's a good move for them though. Their last weekend in town is easter weekend, should be a rockin good time! THEN, the weekend after that, Kate is coming to town! I can't wait to see her. Should be a great couple of weeks.

well..

If I haven't lost any and all readers in the past month since I posted last, I'm back. Sorry. It's been an interesting time:

Trip to the bahamas was AMAZING. We discovered this river at the Atlantis that we spent tons of time on. Basically it had waterslides, rapids, lazy water, all that you went through on inner tubes, double or single. I preferred the double or dubular tubular as we called it with my sister. The rest of the time was amazingly relaxing and fun to spend time there.

So, I got laid off from my job. Yes, sucks but not really too surprising. They weren't doing as well as anticipated so they laid off the whole marketing staff. I'll be fine in terms of finding another job, it's just annoying to have to go through the job search AGAIN!

Dodgeball team is in the playoffs this week. I don't anticipate a big showing, but I do anticipate a great time, both playing and at the bar! Hehe.

Kate is coming to visit at the end of the month. SO excited. She hasn't been here for awhile, since last year's team mean jean I think. Should be a debaucherous weekend.

So anyway, I'm back. If anyone is still out there reading, I've got a lot of thoughts to post in the next few days. Stay tuned...
