So I mentioned yesterday that I was going to see Bon jovi in Central Park, well this was one of those events that I feel REALLY fortunate to have the opportunity to go to. I'll always remember it! It was this really amazing setting, the Great Lawn in Central Park. This is the same kind of concert that Simon & Garfunkel played in front of a million people in the park. My favorite shot that they kept flashing up on the screen came from a camera behind the stage. The stage was at the north end of the great lawn so the shot faced south. In the immediate foreground was bon Jovi, then the sea of 60,000 people who came, then the trees at the south end of the Great Lawn, then the buildings at the top of midtown, like Rockefeller Center, Time Warner Center and a few others. It was a GREAT setting. And Bon Jovi did NOT disappoint. They sound exactly like they do on their CDs and are amazingly energetic. And they are rock stars through and through. The outfits were ridiculous. Jon came out for the first set in a leather vest that was open down to his navel. Richie Sambora came out in a black leather jacket with these sparkly zig zags going down both sides and a wacky hat. Then half way through he changed into this brightly colored snake skin jacket and a new awesome hat. Then Jon came back out after the first break in a red button down shirt unbuttoned down to his navel. THEN came back out after the 2nd break in a blue button down shirt....unbuttoned down to his navel!!! Anyone else wearing these outfits, you would say, eww, i don't want to see that much chest. But Jon Bon Jovi...you think can you undo one more button!!? They didn't allow cameras so my friend Krista and I smuggled one in and only took a few pics. I'll get a link to them when she puts them up, but I don't have a whole lot to show. Thank you, Bon Jovi, what great fun!!
