Malcolm Gladwell!!!

Tonight, on my way to the gym, I saw one of my favorite authors Malcolm Gladwell walking down the street! He wrote the 2 books "The Tipping Point" and "Blink" and writes for the NY Times. His crazy hair gave him away (look him up on google, you'll see his hair) and he looked just as cool as he seems from his books. I was giddy my whole time at the gym, well also because I was watching American Idol, but he's one of my favorite celebrities!!

This is the view looking south from the top of Rockefeller Center. Obviously that big building is the Empire State Building. The space between the Empire State Building and the tall buildings down at the south end of the island is Greenwich Village where I live. If you look really far in the background you can see the Statue of LIberty poking up in the water on the right side of the pic.

We took a trip on Sunday afternoon out to Long Beach, Long Island to check out the house where my Dad's grandparents used to have a summer home. The house looked a little smaller, but it was a great trip. Nice beaches!!

My mom just got word yesterday that this pup on the right with the pink ribbon is HER MILLER!! No, not named after Miller beer but named after the Miller's daughter of Rumpelstiltskin. She couldn't be cuter! She gets her on Saturday. 4 days!!

This weekend

Tomorrow, my Mommy, Daddy and Sissy are coming for the weekend. I can't wait!! I'm going to take them to my fave neighborhood Osteria tomorrow night and then maybe we'll go for sushi or another night in Little Italy. There are at least 9 meal opportunities and we'll take advantage of them all! Not sure what else we'll do. Anyone have any suggestions? Sometimes that is a curse of NY, there are TOO Many things to do!

Awesome party!

I just got back from the NBC up-front party (up-fronts are where the networks introduce what shows they're going to have in the fall and then the advertisers can buy things "Up-front" if they want to. So anyway, all the talent from the new shows goes. So here are some of the people I got to see:

All the news people, Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieria, Ann Curry, Al Roker, Brian Williams, Tim Russert, etc. They left early though...the Today show starts a little early!

Football is coming back to NBC, so today they debuted John Madden, Al Michaels, Bob Costas, Jerome Bettis, Sterling Sharpe. They were awesome.
That's all I can think of for now. OH yeah, except for the big guy from Lost (I forget his name) who got into the party even though it's supposed to be for NBC. Heehee

Conan

Funny, my 2 posts today are Kenin and Conan. Today, I'm going to see the taping of Conan at 5:30. Tom Hanks is on the show! I'm excited.

Kenin (band, friends, roommates to Kate) are coming to NY to play tomorrow at Coda. They're playing their new songs which they're recording soon. Should be a good time!

Weekend in DC

My weekend in DC was a big success! Kate's opening on Thursday was awesome. She had tons of friends and a good Keegan contingency there for her. Her poster/DVD/book looked great and so did she!! We had an awesome dinner with her 2 friends Alicia and Kelly, our cousin Michael and his gf Emily and my friend Bob after the opening at the Old Ebbitts Grill. Very yummy.
The next day, I had to go to work and then I went to see my cousin Daniel's Lacrosse game with my other cousins Kim and Casey. He plays for Georgetown Prep, and they won 15-2. Then out to dinner with Kate and Darrell.
Saturday, Delilah and I went to the dog park and she got in a couple fights. She's really tough. Then we went to our Uncle Brian and Aunt Mary's house in Virginia for dinner. Our Gma was there and so were our ADORABLE cousins Aidan and Dylan. They're 4 and 5 respectively. SO cute. They put on sunglasses, gel in their hair and ripped jeans and had a rock show for us. So much fun!
Then Sunday Kate and I had a nice bagel/coffee outing and then she took me to the airport. Back in 2 weeks to do it all over again with twice as much family and just as much fun!!!!
