Long time, no post

Sorry I haven't been posting for the last few weeks. it's been a busy month. A couple tidbits of news:
1. I quit my job. I decided that I wasn't doing what I want to be doing and instead of just keeping trucking along, I quit and am going to focus on what I really want to do. I'll keep everyone posted where I land, but I'm really happy about it.
2. I got a new apartment! As of April 15, I will officially be back in the East Village. It's all my own apartment too. A teeny tiny little studio, but it's affordable (by affordable I mean under $1500 a month) and in a great neighborhood. I am really excited to be living by myself again!
3. I'm in Seattle right now. My friend Tadd is getting married this afternoon. It should be a lovely wedding.
4. Team Mean Jean is fast approaching us! Keegans et al will start descending on New York in about 3 weeks. It's going to be a really fun time!
5. My sister got a new job designing packaging for Bratz dolls. I'm SO proud of her!
So sorry for my lack of posting. I'll be better.

Spring training--day 2

Ok, so today wasn't a baseball day but still a great day! Beach day!! We spent the afternoon at Ft. Myers Beach. I finished my book "Moneyball" and Elizabeth finished reading all of chapter 17 of her organic chemistry homework. She was using FAR more brain power than I was. Then we had some ice cream and came back and watched selection sunday (see previous post about Gonzaga) and then went out to dinner. The dinner was just ok, but the company was great!
It's Elizabeth's birthday in 2 hours 10 minutes (for those of you in ET) and tomorrow we have a full day of baseball to celebrate! We have tickets for sure to Twins/Marlins and after that's over we're going to try for Red Sox/Yanks who play across town. Either way, we're going to head over to the practice fields to watch the minor leaguers early tomorrow morning before the game. WE LOVE SPRING TRAINING!!!
Tuesday, the Cardinals come to play the Twins. We'll enjoy an afternoon of Poooh-hols!

Zags

Ok, they're a 10 seed playing Indiana. Not great, but about what I expected after their ridiculous season. They play Thursday, root hard for them! :)

Spring training!

My cousin Elizabeth and I are at spring training today. Day 1, extremely successful. We got to see a game between the Twinkies and the Devil Rays. Twinkies won in extra innings. The weather is PERFECT and I got to meet Peter Gammons. Pretty exciting. Tomorrow beach and birthday dinner for Elizabeth. Monday 2 games (hopefully). We have tickets for 1 and we're just going to go to the Red Sox stadium and see if we can get tix for the Yanks. It'll be way fun. A much needed vacation.

Lottery

Ok, so I NEVER play the lottery but today the jackpot got up to $370 MILLION!! So I decided to buy a ticket. The number 23 is on my ticket so that's a good sign. I KNOW I'm going to win. :)

Welcome to Hoboken

So today, my friends and I collectively accumulated no less than $1,000 worth of fines in the city of Hoboken today. Don't get too concerned, we're not criminals, here's what happened. So not to conflict with NYC's celebratin, Hoboken celebrates St. Patty's day 2 weeks early. There is a parade and lots of fun times. So my friend invited me and 4 other people to her apartment for brunch and then to watch the parade. We went over there and had a lovely brunch complete with mimosas. We were a little late for the parade so we poured the leftover mimosas into cups and headed out. Well we hadn't gotten more than 1 block when 2 cops came up to us and asked us for our IDs and gave each of us a ticket for having an open container of alcohol. $250 EACH!!! It was pretty ridiculous considering we probably had 20 parts OJ, 1 part champagne in that cup. I was highly amused and even asked the cops if I could take my picture with them and the ticket. They declined.
So that is $750, BUT my friend who invited us over to her house had parked her car slightly into a crosswalk, and because it was so busy instead of just ticketing and waiting for her to move it, they TOWED her. To get her car out of the impound will be at minumum $250. So the parade was awesome, but was by far the most it's ever cost me to watch a parade!!
As if I didn't like Hoboken enough already....
