I have to tell Rafael's story because he is a remarkable kid. He is 8 years old and last year just before we got there, his mother abandoned him. No idea why but she just left and left him to fend for himself. So Lourdes, the woman who makes all our meals for us at her house adopted him. He lives with her now, goes to school and works on their farm. Talk about a well-balanced kid after a remarkably hard life so far.
