So this is pretty cool. OUtside the rock, right above the rink, they set up these huge movie screens and show movies a couple nights a week during the summer. Last night's was obviously about soccer!
Well, they don't close the streets because there is a big plaza in front of Rockefeller center where there are no streets running through. So they set up folding chairs for about half a block in front of the screen and there are speakers close to the chairs so people can hear. Then they had some cars in the middle of the folding chairs for VIPs. Who knows who the VIPs actually were but they could sit in cars. The crowd I saw was a couple hundred people. It was cool!

Looks like fun, Anne. Do they get large crowds? Close streets so people have a place to sit and watch? Details, Tootsie.
Isn't this a misnomer (since most New Yorkers don't own cars)? Shouldn't it be a "walk-up" movie or a "cab-it" movie?
